How to Volunteer with To A Tea Inc.

Volunteers help us keep our programs free, organized, and connected to the community.

Whether you want to serve at events, support youth programming, assist with donation distribution, or help build our Jacksonville team, there is a place for you to lend a hand.

Ways to Volunteer

  • Program Support: Help with workshops, mentorship sessions, and community events.

  • Youth & Mentorship Support: Assist with Rise & Reach and youth-centered activities.

  • Donation Sorting & Distribution: Help organize and distribute donated goods and Feed the Need items.

  • Administrative Support: Assist with outreach, sign-ins, follow-ups, data entry, and program coordination.

  • Creative & Media Support: Help with photos, flyers, content, writing, or social media support.

  • Jacksonville Staff Volunteers: Help us build our local volunteer team and prepare for Rise & Reach, Emerging Leaders, and Feed the Need programming in Jacksonville, NC.

Volunteer Requirements

To help us serve the community well, we ask volunteers to:

  1. Complete a brief volunteer application.

  2. Attend a volunteer orientation.

  3. Commit to a role, schedule, or project that fits your availability.

  4. Uphold To A Tea’s values of respect, care, accountability, and community.

  5. Complete a background check when required for the role.

Volunteer Background Check Policy

At To A Tea Inc., we are committed to creating a safe and welcoming environment for the communities we serve. All volunteers are required to complete a background check as part of our onboarding process.

Please note:
Having a criminal record does not automatically disqualify you from volunteering with us. We believe in second chances and understand that people can grow and change. However, for the safety of those we serve—especially children and vulnerable populations—we do have firm restrictions.

We cannot accept volunteers with the following convictions on their record:

  • Sex crimes or offenses

  • Crimes against children

  • Family violence

  • Human trafficking or exploitation-related charges
